Brat Au Gratin

Ingredients:

3 c. potatoes, sliced & blanched 6 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. flour 1½ c. milk 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1 pkg. Bobak’s Bratwurst  (sliced diagonal ½” pieces) salt pepper


Cooking Instructions:

Brown sausage.  Place potatoes in a shallow, broiler proof baking dish.  In saucepan over medium heat melt the butter; remove 3 tbsp. of butter into a cup, set aside.  


To the remaining butter in saucepan add flour, blend well, stir in milk.  Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and smooth.  Add browned sausage with cheddar cheese and continue stirring until cheese is melted.  Pour additional butter over potatoes in baking dish; mix gently.


Add sausage and cheese, and bake at 400ºF for 15 minutes to heat through, then broil until golden brown.
